Waterjet Canada Ltd. worked on the profile cutting for the US air force memorial project in Arlington Virginia.
This project required 800,000 lbs. of 316 stainless steel polished on one side. The stress relief of the polishing created unique challenge as the plates turned into bowls and had to be clamped down to maintain flatness.
The 45 degree chamfer on the arc side of the towers was also cut with the waterjet. The end of the project created 100,000 lbs of scrap material.
